Contains the various constitutions and by-laws, documents and records of activities on and off campus, financial records, membership rosters, photographs, publications and handbooks. There are the Association's Presidents' journals, 1903-1924 and annual reports, 1900-1944, the Advisory Committee minutes, 1902-April 1965 and the Bible Study Committee reports, 1903-1927. Also included are documents of the Student Christian Movement in New England and the Student Volunteer Band.

The Smith College Association for Christian Work (S.C.A.C.W.) had its origin in 1892 when a social group was formed to support religious work. Five years later the students felt a need for religious services and founded the Christian Union. Soon the social group and the Union combined to form the S.C.A.C.W. They were involved in welcoming freshman, doing social work in Northampton, sending delegates to intercollegiate religious conferences and arranging a program of lectures by outside speakers....

The Student Christian Movement was formed in 1934 by the YMCA, YWCA and various Protestant denominations to promote cooperative religious work among college and university students in New England.
